VALHALLA VISIONS COUNSELLING CLINIC
Natalie Gillis BA, MACP, CCC, LCT-C21-037

Valhalla Visions Counselling Clinic provides provincially regulated counselling therapy for military veterans, first responders, front line workers including various health, medical and educational staff, and those who have experienced interpersonal and/or domestic violence. It opened on October 4th, 2023, and sets out to exemplify and model the core values and valour of The Order of St. George. Regulated care and ethics are followed by the Canadian Counselling &
Psychotherapy Association, and The College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick.

Many individuals coming to the Clinic are enduring Operational Stress Injuries, up to and including experience with internal discrimination/abuse on top of the demands of their work, and/or complex physical and mental wellness challenges. They typically hold a higher regard and respect for structure, being informed and consistency. It comes from having worked in occupations where a chiselled character and professionalism is needed because it can mean life or death.

VVCC believes in working with all clients to help them learn how to focus on what they can control, accept what they cannot, and to cultivate or recover emotional resilience and inner strength. The Clinic also believes in genuine leadership to deliver a cohesive, mission-oriented program to all of its clientele. Other clients who have not worked in these environments may have been on the receiving end of a very long series of tragic and adverse life events. They require and can expect the same level of mindful application here.

Why “Valhalla” was chosen as the Clinic’s name

In Norse traditions, when warriors have been killed in battle, they are brought to Valhalla to regain their strength. While this is not their final resting place, it is where they heal and prepare for the next step in their journey. The Clinic recognizes that individuals can endure being at war with themselves. However, there is a time and a place when that war needs to end, and a healing site is needed to rejuvenate to become one's best self.

Interprovincial, video, phone and in person sessions are available.
